Synopsis
Conductor Tom Service introduces Russian maestro Valery Gergiev's appearance at the Proms, where he will lead the World Orchestra for Peace in a performance of Mahler's vast Sixth Symphony. To mark the 150th anniversary of Richard Strauss's birth, Gergiev will also conduct the symphonic poem *Die Frau ohne Schatten*.
