The world's preeminent classical music festival commences at the Royal Albert Hall. Katie Derham presents a performance of Elgar's magnificent biblical oratorio, *The Kingdom*, a stirring musical depiction of the disciples' actions following Jesus' ascension. Sir Andrew Davis returns to the Proms in the year of his seventieth birthday, leading the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus alongside the BBC National Chorus of Wales.
