Synopsis
The Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi marks its Proms debut with a celebration of Verdi's bicentenary, featuring Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja in a selection of his most beloved arias. Under the direction of Xian Zhang, the orchestra will also present Tchaikovsky's Manfred Symphony, a passionate and melancholic journey through the Alps inspired by a poem by Lord Byron.
