Synopsis

Tom Service offers a distinctly British perspective on his series exploring 20th-century music at the Proms. This installment features the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Harding, performing works by Michael Tippett, including his Concerto for Double String Orchestra; Benjamin Britten's *Les Illuminations*, with tenor Ian Bostridge; and Edward Elgar's Second Symphony. The concert is dedicated to Sir Colin Davis, the late president of the London Symphony Orchestra.
