Synopsis

Daniel Barenboim's comprehensive cycle of Beethoven's symphonies draws to its powerful close. The ninth symphony, renowned for its fervent portrayal of human unity, is being performed at the Royal Albert Hall. The ensemble features the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra's promising young musicians, the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, and a distinguished international quartet of soloists: Anna Samuil, Waltraud Meier, Peter Seiffert, and René Pape.
