Synopsis

The London Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski, presents an evening of romantic and passionate music from Tchaikovsky and Mahler at the Royal Albert Hall. Mezzo-soprano Alice Coote will perform Mahler's *Songs of a Wayfarer*, a cycle inspired by the composer’s own sorrowful love life. The concert concludes with Tchaikovsky’s *Manfred*, a powerfully dramatic symphonic work drawn from Lord Byron’s poem of the same name. The program is introduced by Charles Hazlewood.
