Synopsis

From the hallowed stage of the Royal Albert Hall, Katie Derham welcomes the audience to the concluding concert of the 2011 Proms season. Conductor Edward Gardner makes his debut on the Last Night podium, accompanied by two distinguished guest soloists: the celebrated Chinese pianist Lang Lang and Britain’s foremost dramatic soprano, Susan Bullock. Lang Lang will perform Liszt's dazzling Piano Concerto No. 1, while Susan Bullock will embody the Immolation Scene from Wagner's monumental Ring cycle
