Synopsis

A private evening at the Royal Albert Hall featured the acclaimed Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt. The program commenced with solo works by Brahms, followed by a performance of Schumann’s Introduction and Concert Allegro. This piece, a miniature concerto conceived as a wedding anniversary gift for his wife Clara, saw Ms. Hewitt joined by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and conductor Andrew Manze. The concert concluded with Schoenberg's orchestration of Brahms' G minor Piano Quartet.
