Synopsis

Kathryn Tickell, the Northumbrian smallpiper, and her collaborators present the music of Percy Grainger in a Prom at the Royal Albert Hall. The program features pieces like "Molly on the Shore," "Shepherd's Hey," and "Early One Morning"—Grainger, a visionary collector of folk melodies from across the globe, drew upon such sources for his arrangements. The concert weaves together traditional and contemporary folk music informed by his work. Special guests include English folk singer June Tabor, w
