Synopsis

The Royal Albert Hall welcomes the opening of its 117th Proms season with a program featuring works by Brahms, Liszt, Janáček, and a world premiere by British composer Judith Weir as a prelude to the main event. Nineteen-year-old pianist Benjamin Grosvenor will make his Proms debut, performing Liszt's dramatic Piano Concerto No. 2. An international roster of soloists will join the BBC Singers, the BBC Symphony Chorus, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by chief conductor Jirí Belohláve
