Synopsis

Nelson Freire, a leading interpreter of Chopin, takes the solo role in Chopin’s Second Piano Concerto, a work of lyrical beauty and dazzling brilliance. Young French conductor Lionel Bringuier makes his debut at the Proms, leading the BBC Symphony Orchestra in a vibrant performance of Ravel's score for the ballet *Daphnis et Chloé* – Suite No. 2. The performance is introduced from the Royal Albert Hall by Katie Derham.
