Charles Hazlewood presents the Royal Albert Hall – its stage, arena, and galleries – as a breathtaking setting for Monteverdi’s masterpiece, the spectacular Vespers of 1610. Sir John Eliot Gardiner and his Monteverdi Choir revisit the music that marked their Proms debut in 1968, this time accompanied by the skilled period instrumentalists of the English Baroque Soloists, and enhanced with the added brass of His Majesty’s Sagbutts and Cornetts.
