Synopsis
The Royal Albert Hall hosts a performance of Bruckner’s unfinished symphony by the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the final youth orchestra to appear at the Proms in the 2010 season. Founded by Claudio Abbado in 1986, the orchestra was pioneering in its unity of musicians from Eastern and Western Europe. Conducted by Herbert Blomstedt, the program features Mahler's *Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen* with baritone Christian Gerhaher, alongside Hindemith’s Symphony *Mathis der Maler*.
