Synopsis

Katie Derham presents a concert featuring Mahler, performed by the World Orchestra for Peace under the direction of the compelling Valery Gergiev. The orchestra, an idea of George Solti designed to unite exceptional musicians from every corner of the globe in the pursuit of peace, will perform Mahler's monumental Fifth Symphony, a work renowned for its deeply moving Adagietto—the composer’s most celebrated single movement.
