Synopsis

Suzy Klein introduces a performance of Handel's oratorio *Samson*, a dramatic narrative charting the final days of the legendary Israelite warrior. Crafted within weeks of Handel's *Messiah* and drawing upon a text by John Milton, it quickly ascended to become one of Handel’s most enduringly popular and successful oratorios. Harry Bicket conducts a distinguished ensemble of British singers, featuring Susan Gritton as Dalila and Mark Padmore as Samson.
