Synopsis

The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain returns to the Proms from the Royal Albert Hall, led by their new principal conductor, Vasily Petrenko. The concert will feature Tchaikovsky’s celebrated Piano Concerto No. 1, with Stephen Hough as soloist, followed by Lutosławski's compelling Concerto for Orchestra. The evening concludes with Respighi’s evocative musical portrayal of Roman festivals. The programme is presented by Katie Derham.
