Synopsis

Antonio Pappano leads the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in a program featuring three compositions from the United States. The evening opens with Edgard Varèse’s expansive *Ameriques*, a work drawing inspiration from the clamor of Manhattan. This is followed by Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 4 in G, performed by the accomplished Boris Berezovsky.
