Synopsis

Conductor Daniele Gatti leads the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10, the final installment of the orchestra's eight-piece celebration of the Russian composer's centenary. The work is accompanied by Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, featuring soloist Joshua Bell, who also participates in an interview. The program is introduced by Charles Hazlewood.
