Synopsis

The current season embraces a theme of fairy tales, showcased by Russian composer Liadov’s tone-poem trilogy—*Baba-Yaga*, *The Enchanted Lake*, and *Kikimora*—all drawn from ancient folk stories, alongside Stravinsky's ballet score, *The Fairy's Kiss*, inspired by the tales of Hans Christian Andersen. Interspersed among these works are Knussen’s settings of four poems by Walt Whitman and the premiere of German composer Detlev Glanert’s *Theatrum Bestiarum*.
