Synopsis

Led by Gianandrea Noseda, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra opens a 75th-anniversary celebration of the Russian ballet innovator Serge Diaghilev with a performance of Stravinsky's brilliant *Firebird* Suite. The program also features the world premiere of John Casken’s symphony *Broken Consort*, alongside Ravel's spirited G major piano concerto, with Pierre-Laurent Aimard as soloist. The evening is introduced by Charles Hazlewood.
