Synopsis

The Halle Orchestra will present Elgar’s monumental Symphony No. 1 in A flat – a work first performed ninety-five years ago – as their only appearance at this year's Proms. Conductor Mark Elder joins host Tommy Pearson to discuss the performance. The concert program also features Berlioz’s *Les Nuits d'Été* and Colin Matthews’s recent composition, *Vivo*.
