Synopsis

Tonight's promenade concert from London's Royal Albert Hall features Stephanie Hughes leading the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in their annual performance. Guest conductor Yan Pascal Tortelier will guide the orchestra through two significant works by composers being honored in 2003. The program opens with an early composition by Messiaen, the "symphonic meditation" *Les Offrandes Oubliées*. This is followed by Berlioz's Byronic concerto, *Harold in Italy*, featuring viola soloist
