Synopsis

This evening’s concert features Ravel’s *Le Tombeau de Couperin*, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9, performed by Leif Ove Andsnes, and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3 in A minor, in the Scottish style. The Mahler Chamber Orchestra is led by Alan Gilbert of New York, who makes his Proms debut. The program will be introduced by Charles Hazlewood.
