Synopsis

The King’s Singers – Paul Phoenix (tenor), Robin Tyson and David Hurley (counter-tenors), Gabriel Crouch and Philip Lawson (baritones), and Stephen Connolly (bass) – present a distinctive repertoire of both Renaissance and contemporary madrigals. Their program weaves together selections from *The Triumphs of Oriana*, a 1601 collection celebrating Queen Elizabeth I, with seven newly commissioned madrigals. These works, crafted by leading British composers and poets, were written specifically to
