Synopsis

Charles Hazlewood welcomes us to tonight's Prom, broadcast live from the Royal Albert Hall in London. Continuing the theme of this year's season, the concert has a distinctly Spanish character. The Orquestra de Barcelona makes its Proms debut, performing works by Manuel de Falla, Xavier Montsalvatge, and Gerhard, accompanied by mezzo-soprano Jennifer Larmore. Prior to intermission, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto will be presented, featuring the virtuosic Russian soloist Viktoria Mullova. Lawrence
