Synopsis

The program features Varese's *Arcana*, a composition drawn from the esoteric philosophy of Paracelsus. Also presented is American violinist Joshua Bell performing Bernstein's *Serenade*, alongside the UK premiere of his *West Side Story Suite*. The concert concludes with Ravel's enduringly beloved *Boléro*. The BBC Philharmonic is led by conductor Yan Pascal Tortelier.
