Synopsis

Stephanie Hughes presents the annual celebration live from London’s Royal Albert Hall, with the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andrew Davis. The program features the overture to Nielsen’s opera *Masquerade*, arias with a devilish theme performed by Willard White, and the UK premiere of Esa-Pekka Salonen’s *Giro* alongside Poulenc’s Organ Concerto, with Gillian Weir as soloist. Later, beginning at 8:35 pm, the broadcast shifts to Proms in the Park concerts in London’s Hyde Park, hosted by
