Synopsis

The BBC Proms season proceeds with this live broadcast from the Royal Albert Hall. Sir Georg Solti, a conductor renowned throughout the world, returns to lead the Proms in a performance of Verdi's Requiem. The distinguished soloists include Michele Crider (soprano), Olga Borodina (mezzo-soprano), Frank Lopardo (tenor), and Rene Pape (bass), accompanied by the London Voices, the London Symphony Chorus, and the London Symphony Orchestra. The broadcast is introduced by James Naughtie.
