Synopsis

On August 14th, at London's Royal Albert Hall, James Naughtie presented two well-loved works of musical narrative in the third of four Proms broadcast on BBC television. The performances, conducted by Valery Gergiev and featuring the Kirov Orchestra's Proms debut, included Tchaikovsky's *Romeo and Juliet* Overture and Rimsky-Korsakov's *Scheherazade*.
