Synopsis

Two celebrated young Russian musicians will perform together in a concert featuring Brahms's Double Concerto. Violinist Dmitry Sitkovetsky and cellist Mischa Maisky, lauded by Rostropovich as "one of the most outstanding talents of the younger generation of cellists," will share the stage. The Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by their new principal guest conductor Claus Peter Flor, will begin the evening with Weber's overture to Der Freischutz.
