Tonight's Prom takes place in the more intimate setting of St Paul's Church, Knightsbridge, where Anthony Rooley and his Consort of Musicke present a specially curated program of Italian madrigals. Reflecting this year's literary theme, the concert draws inspiration from the poetry of Torquato Tasso, the celebrated Italian Renaissance writer whose epic poem *Gerusalemme liberata* captivated composers of his time, including Monteverdi, De Wert, and Rovetta.
