Synopsis

The second of two broadcasts features the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra of Manchester performing Gustav Mahler's *Das Lied von der Erde*, recorded during this year's Promenade Concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Kurt Sanderling conducts, with soloists mezzo-soprano Carolyn Watkinson and tenor John Mitchinson. The program is introduced by John Mundy.
