Synopsis

Jonathan Harvey's *Madonna of Winter and Spring*, a significant new work commissioned by the BBC, premiered at the Royal Albert Hall. The piece is a meditation on faith, realized through the powerful interplay of a large orchestra and live electronics. It involves over one hundred musicians, three synthesizers, and a double circle of sixteen loudspeakers surrounding the hall.
