Synopsis

Richard Baker introduces the fifth broadcast of this year's BBC1 series from the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts. The Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields, led by Kenneth Sillito, performs Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony under the direction of Neville Marriner. Joining them is Anthony Rolfe-Johnson (tenor) in Benjamin Britten’s *Les Illuminations*.
