Synopsis

Richard Baker introduces the third installment of this season’s recordings from the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts: a performance by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Charles Groves. The program features Mendelssohn's beloved Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, with Iona Brown as soloist, followed by Hindemith’s tranquil ballet suite, *Nobilissima visione*, which depicts the life of Saint Francis of Assisi.
