Synopsis

This recording captures the second installment of the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts held at the Royal Albert Hall, London. The soloist is Itzhak Perlman, performing Edward Elgar's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, accompanied by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, led by concertmaster Rodney Friend and conducted by Gennadi Rozhdestvensky. The program is introduced by Richard Baker.
