Synopsis

The fourth installment of the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts, recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in London, features Kiril Kondrashin in his Proms debut, leading the Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam. The program includes Prokofiev's Symphony No. 1 in D major (Classical), with principal clarinetist Theo Olof. Following intermission, Bartók's Piano Concerto No. 3 is performed, with Theo Bruins as soloist. The concerto is introduced by Sheila Tracy.
