Synopsis

The Proms begin with a broadcast on BBC2 and Radio 3, presented in stereo, featuring the first half of tonight's concert from the Royal Albert Hall. The program includes Haydn's Symphony No. 95 in C minor and Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 2 in A major. Roger Woodward (piano), principal of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, performs under the direction of John Pritchard. The broadcast is introduced by Jon Curle.
