Synopsis

The 1975 season of Henry Wood Promenade Concerts commences tonight with Mahler's Symphony No. 8, often called the "Symphony of a Thousand." The monumental and triumphant work will be broadcast in stereo from the Royal Albert Hall, courtesy of a joint transmission by BBC2 and Radio 3.
