Synopsis

This was the fifth of six performances during the 1974 season of Henry Wood Promenade Concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. Stephen Bishop performed Bartók's Piano Concerto No. 3. The BBC Symphony Orchestra, with Bela Dekany as principal player, was conducted by Colin Davis. The concert program opened with Beethoven's Overture to Leonore, No. 1, and was introduced by Richard Baker. (This concert took place on the 13th of August.)
