This was the fifth of six performances during the 1973 season of Henry Wood Promenade Concerts held at the Royal Albert Hall. Colin Davis conducted the BBC Symphony Orchestra in Elgar's Symphony No. 2 in E flat. "I am delighted that Colin Davis’s performance of Elgar’s Second Symphony is being televised.
