Synopsis

This was the third of five concerts in the 1972 season of Henry Wood Promenade Concerts held at the Royal Albert Hall. Bernard Haitink conducted Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Rodney Friend as principal leader. The program was introduced by Richard Baker and was broadcast last Friday. Next week’s concert will feature music by Strauss and Lehar. (Colour)
