Synopsis

This concert concludes a five-part series from the 1970 season of Henry Wood Promenade Concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. The Halle Orchestra, led by Martin Milner and conducted by Charles Groves, will feature Jean Fonda on piano. The program includes Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, followed by Delius's "In a Summer Garden." The performance, originally scheduled to be conducted by Sir John Barbirolli, will include his final filmed interview, recorded shortly before his death.
