Synopsis

This was the fourth of four performances I attended during the 74th season of the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. The State Orchestra of the U.S.S.R., led by Isaac Zhuk and conducted by Evgeny Svetlanov, presented Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 in B minor, the Pathetique. Richard Baker introduced the work.
