It’s easy to see why some people reacted negatively to Starbuck at first; she felt like an unnecessary alteration in what could have been another reboot filled with changes that would diminish the original, similar to how "V" did. However, this reboot ended up being exceptional, and even though I feel a little guilty saying it—because of my affection for the 1978 version—the 2004 Starbuck proved to be far superior to the polished ladies’ man. She was tough, gritty, and fantastic, embodying the spirit of top-tier science fiction protagonists. Now there's another wave of criticism arising years later, seemingly driven by a desire to tear down anything with a dedicated fan base, which I can’t grasp the purpose of. Regardless, set aside that political stuff and settle in for a series that is both visually stunning and deeply moving and full of adventure. It represents a peak achievement for everything that makes science fiction truly great.
