Shame slipped free from confinement, joining forces with Calamity Jan as they set about their latest scheme. He left a veiled message for Batman, Robin, and Batgirl, hinting at the initial stage of his plan: the theft of two celebrated opera singers. The dynamic trio managed to unravel his cryptic clue and raced to intervene, but Shame unleashed a cloud of debilitating "fear gas," leaving them shaken and vulnerable.
