It’s hard to understand why this even exists, especially in 2024. It seems like DC saw Marvel’s X-Men '97 and thought, "We need to do this too, and we need to do it immediately!" Also, Pingwing isn't transgender; she's a gender-swapped character. It's disappointing that some people are getting the details wrong, because the accusations of transphobia just keep coming. Describing her as "[...] a female body positive trans Penguin" feels like an awful lot to pack into one description. I wonder if we would have heard the same strong criticism if they had simply presented a body-positive male Pingwing? I've been reviewing shows non-stop, and this is the fourth one in just a few days, and honestly, they’ve all been pretty dull. Is there anything engaging left to watch out there? The quality of the writing is poor, the voice acting isn’t particularly good, and the animation is unremarkable. What really bothers me is how Harley's character as a villain has become so lifeless and uninteresting. I don’t mind civilian Harley, but villain Harley needs some energy—something to make her pop!
