It’s hard to see what people find appealing about this show; it feels completely unnecessary. It’s baffling that something so lacking in substance managed to get picked up for television, especially given the misleading marketing. The claim that it's "Based on an original movie Psycho from 1960" seems designed purely to attract viewers, because beyond sharing a few character names and a setting, there’s virtually no connection between this series and the film. I found myself constantly questioning the direction of the plot as each episode unfolded; the storylines are packed with implausible developments that ultimately make the show tedious and frustrating. There are many other fictional programs out there that at least offer some enjoyment, but this isn't one of them. After a short while, watching it felt like an obligation, something I’d have on in the background while doing other things—and even then, getting through the first season was difficult. I won’t bother with future episodes, regardless of what they might hold, because investing more time and effort into this show feels like a drain, both for me personally and for my electricity bill.
