A year after Varus' defeat, a new Roman general gets settled in Germania as Ari seeks to become king of all the tribes — but a rival stands in his way.
A suspicion gnawed at Ari: the Romans were reforging their armies. He sought counsel from Marbod, a tribal chief of the eastern peoples. Meanwhile, Ari's brother, Flavus, journeyed into Germania.
When Thusnelda slips into the Roman encampment, a friend lends her assistance. Unbeknownst to Ari, Marbod seeks an audience with Tiberius, hoping to broker a lasting peace.
Germanicus charged Flavus with treason. Ari led Gaius to the village, and then turned his vengeful gaze upon Marbod. Thusnelda, in turn, was furious with Ari for his deceit.
Tiberius seeks to gauge Marbod’s allegiance. Flavus extends a proposition to Germanicus. The tribal leaders convene to crown Marbod, but misfortune descends upon them.
Marbod faced Tiberius, his voice a demand for justice. Meanwhile, Thusnelda and Folkwin embarked on a journey. Elsewhere, Gaius sought refuge in the woods, where he stumbled upon a startling revelation.
As the arrival of Roman reinforcements drew near by sea, the tribes made ready to strike at the camp. Meanwhile, Segestes approached Tiberius with a deceitful proposition.
