Banshee stands out as an exceptionally well-produced show that embraces its lowbrow nature. It’s become one of my top shows ever, largely due to the intense action sequences, the explicit content, and the compelling narrative featuring brutal characters—it all comes together really well. I should have noted earlier how pointless some of the violence is, just for its own sake. The series was consistently entertaining from beginning to end. The performances are strong across the board, particularly Ulrich Thomsen's unsettling portrayal. Kai Proctor is a character designed to be despised, rooted in extreme religious beliefs, while Kurt Bunker (played wonderfully by Tom Pelphrey) is someone easy to root for, despite his troubling Nazi/Rightwing views. It’s genuinely funny and unexpected at times. If you enjoy B-movies, this show elevates the genre with its high production values and near-flawless acting in stories that are familiar and enjoyable.
